GREG YELVERTON has selected an 18-man squad for Monday’s Representative Game with the Irish Defence Forces in Athlone Town Stadium.
With the Summer Universiade on the horizon, Yelverton has been busy over the last number of weeks observing players during the latter stages of the CUFL and Third Level Cup competitions. He has selected an experimental squad as he assesses his options before picking his squad for the tournament in Italy.
With a high turnover of graduating students, only three players remain from the squad that defeated France last June in Longford.
The Third Level side last played the Defence Forces in Cork last April with the students running out easy winners against Richie Barber’s side, who are also beginning their own preparations for the World Military Games that will be taking place in China in October.
