Four games take place on opening day of tournament
The first day of the 2019 UEFA European Under-17 Championships has arrived and the excitement can be felt at the team base in Citywest Hotel and around the grounds where the games will be played.
This is only the third UEFA tournament that the Republic of Ireland has hosted in almost 100 years, with the Under-16 EUROs and the 2015 Regions’ Cup coming ahead of this event which will run until May 19.
The action gets started on Friday, May 3 with four games – two in Dublin, one in Longford, one in Waterford – and that includes Colin O’Brien’s Ireland team taking on Greece in Tallaght Stadium at 19:00.As the tournament kicks off, here is everything that you need to know…

Czech Republic v Belgium: 12:00, Tolka Park (Dublin)
Republic of Ireland v Greece: 19:00, Tallaght Stadium (Dublin) Group B
Netherlands v Sweden: 17:00, Regional Sports Centre (Waterford)
France v England: 19:00, City Calling Stadium (Longford)
Prices for all games have been set at €5 for adults and FREE for Under-16s. Current FAI Season Ticket holders do not gain automatic entry as this is a UEFA tournament.Tickets can be purchased outside each venue or online via Ticketmaster
