SANDYHILL………… 4 TRINITY DONAGHEMEDE…..0
On a wet Saturday afternoon Sandyhill/Shangan and Trinity Donaghmede took to the Coultry Park pitch with The AFL Premier title at stake.
Difficult task though for Trinity, only a victory for them would prevent the home side from clinching a treble of Amateur Cup, Matt O’Leary and League, and a win would mean that they would have to do it all again in a play-off.

Things got a little more difficult when Robbie Bartley curled an unstoppable effort to the net from the edge of the box in the second minute.
Although Trinity managed to force 8 corners in the first half Johnny Hynes was rarely troubled except for a race with Wayne Griffin that he won midway through. It was Sandyhill that went in two up after an exceptional team move.
Owen Heary began, and almost finished it when Ciaran Ryan played him in behind. He could have had a go but he rolled it along the six-yard box for Steo Coleman and he fired it home.
Ryan himself made it three-nil when he hurtled from the half-way line and rounded Trevor Owens to score and late on the same man iced the cake to make it 4-0 for the very worthy champions Sandyhill/Shangan.
There were even a few fireworks left over for the celebrations and the weather didn’t dampen matters either.
