IT’S CUP time this week as Colleges and Universities football resumes after the Christmas and New Year break.

After missing out last season due to the ongoing Covid-19 lockdowns the competitions return with the opening round of fixtures in the three Colleges FAI (CFAI) cup competitions plus the regional qualifiers and final of the Irish Universities Harding Cup all down for decision this week.
The Universities Harding Cup which is confined to current first year’s students, unfortunately attracted an entry of only six teams, who have been split into two regional groups of three sides and qualifying rounds will be played on Tuesday at Maynooth University and University of Limerick.
The two regional winners will contest the final on Friday at Athlone Town Stadium (2.0).
