SLIGO LEITRIM LEAGUE

STILL ALL TO PLAY FOR IN CHALLENGE FOR HONOURS IN SLIGO LEITRIM LEAGUE

We are now entering the closing stages of 2 very exciting leagues. Fixtures attached for W/E 27th March and Tentative fixtures for the 3rd April. Mac Sharry Park is in use all Fridays Until May with SLDSL Youth fixtures.

Carbury FC v Merville Utd scheduled for Saturday the 2nd April as Cartron play on the Sunday morning and St Johns on Sunday afternoon at Mac Sharry Park. We can bring KO to 5pm on Saturday 2nd if both clubs wish, or Carbury v Merville can if they so wish book Ballisodare Astro for Sunday 3rd KO 2pm so please discuss and let me know as soon as possible.

Next weekend Carbury FC travel to Real Tubber a win here will leave them on 53 Points and see them crowned as Sligo Super League Champions for the 5th Consecutive season a remarkable achievement by any standards, but Real Tubber may well make them wait a bit longer.

In the Andrew Mullen Premier League, it may well take another round or two for the Champions to be announced. Calry Bohs entertain Benbulben FC and Bohs should on form should take all three points. Second on the leader board have a tough assignment away to high scoring Chaffpool United while in 3rd place Coolaney United welcome Ballygawley Celtic yet another tough encounter. Carrick Town entertain Kilglass Inishscrone United, and both these sides can on their day be lethal.

The Final games of the Seasons has Calry Bohs at Home to St Johns FC Coolaney United have Benbulben FC at Home while Chaffpool Unite welcome will welcome Glenview Stars in what promises to be a grandstand finish.

Grounds:

All pitch inspections are covered within the framework of the SLDSL and SBISRS. Pitch inspections can be requested by contacting the Secretary of SBISRS Owen Mc Loughlin on 087 9323150 no later than 12 Noon on Saturdays with 24hrs notice for games on Fridays. Where a ground is deemed unplayable by the SBISRS the game must revert to the opponent’s grounds. Should the opponents’ grounds be unplayable, either side can, if available provide an alternative ground within the SLDSL should the Kick-off differ from the original scheduled Kick Off i.e.,11am to 2pm and match official is available this game will go ahead any club failing to field will forfeit points. Where a club travel to a ground and a pitch is deemed unplayable yet No Pitch Inspection was requested. The home club will forfeit home advantage and can, depending on circumstances forfeit all three points which is at the total discretion of the SLDSL. There is absolutely no excuse for not requesting Pitch Inspections.

Where a venue is changed from grass to astro the home side must give where possible a days’ notice to opponents to ensure proper footwear for the surface. It may also be prudent for all players to have in their kit bags additional pair of boots for either surface that would eliminate any difficulties should a sudden change of venue grass<>astro occur.

Club Notice:

With immediate effect Only players/Management named of the official Match Card are allowed in the dugouts at Mac Sharry Park for all games at every level. There is no exception to this.
