Carbury FC hit Arrow for seven to maintain pressure on Cartron at Super League summit

Carbury FC continue their quest to retain their crown In the Sligo Southern Hotel Super League. On Sunday they journeyed to Riverstown, laying in wait Arrow Harps a team that on its day is a match for most.

Carbury tracking Cartron United knew that the slightest slip could prove fatal had to be on their top game. Carbury did just that, they came they seen, and they conquered hitting seven goals without reply.

Hat tricks here for Jason Lyons and Gareth Kelly with Mamoud Mansaray adding the final that brings Carbury within two points of Cartron and with a game in hand. Sunday next at Mac Sharry Park Carbury entertain Aughanagh Celtic kick off here at 11am while Cartron entertain inform side Strand Celtic at the same venue with a kick off time of 2pm what games this promises to be.

Ballymote Celtic entertained MCR on Friday night at Mac Sharry Park. A win for MCR would consolidate their 4th place on the leader board while Ballymote in the lower part of the tables are desperate for points and both sides play an open attacking game. MCR lead at the break by two goals to nil courtesy of Aliou Manoh Sesay MCR continued their control of the game with a goal apiece from Jordan Harte, Adam Devaney and Keith Nibbs. Ballymote also had their chances and had a late flourish with a goal each from Niall Colsh, Colm Duffy and Jack Hever.

Ballisodare United in fifth place on the leader board prior to their clash at home to in tenth place Real Tubber on Friday night knew they could relax, while their opponents would be that little bit more anxious with the threat of relegation looming and so it proved to be as Ballisodare relaxed a little bit too much and got hit in a nine-goal demolition job by Real Tubber. Man of the match here Raff Cretaro hitting five goals bringing his goal tally to eighteen just four behind the leading scorer.

This is phenomenal when you consider the number of games Raff has played, he was aided and abetted with two goals from Ben Henry and a goal each from Ciaran Gorman, Eoin Walsh.

Ballisodare hit two late goals through Adam Grace and Luke Middleton but the night, the points and the glory was all Real Tubbers with three precious points moving them well away, at least for the present from the relegation zone.

Merville United welcomed Leitrim side Manorhamilton Rangers to Mac Sharry Park on Sunday morning. Merville despite propping up the league are with a full side extremely dangerous. Manor with strength in depth would prove to be a formidable challenge and so it proved to be. Manor was firing on all cylinder’s hat tricks here for Ciaran Clancy and Paddy Woulfe with Brian Mc Donald hitting a brace and Cian Rock scoring once in this nine-goal blitz. Ryan Hargadon scored the only goal for Merville.

Big game here in the Andrew Mullen Sligo Pallets Premier League Kilglass Inniscrone Unitedat home to Coolaney United with both sides in the hunt for silverware. Leading scorer Cathal Davey scoring on twenty minutes that seen Coolaney lead at the break. Ten minutes into the second half and once again the man with the golden boot Cathal Davey had Coolaney two goals to the good and in the driving seat.

Twenty minutes from time and Coolaney United received a penalty kick Cathal Davey stepping up to try and claim his hat trick and put the game to bed. However, it was not to be as Kilglass Inishscrone net minder Greg Regan kept his net intact and so began the fight back.

Five minutes later and Ronan Martin had the home side right back in the game and a minute from full time Martin added a second goal that game the sea siders a glorious point while placing a massive dent in Coolaney United’s quest for silverware while moving Kilglass Inishscrone United into fourth on the leader board.

Glenview Stars made their way to Chaffpool knowing that nothing less than a win would keep their hopes of league honours alive. The Pool however have been hitting big numbers of late and would like to safeguard themselves with all three points, so a great game was on the cards.

The Pool once again proved lethal hitting Stars for seven. Jack Mc Intyre nailing a hat trick while Criostoir Davey and Conor Prendergast each scored twice. Stars scorers were Alan Collum and Hayden Cawley. Stars are now mid table and can only dream of what might have been, while the Pool are fifth from the top and have yet to welcome current league leaders St Johns to Chaffpool on the 27th of March.

Ballygawley Celtic took all three points by the odd goal in five at home Gurteen Celtic. Christy Markham, Derek Lynch and Aiden Kilpatrick on target for Ballygawley Celtic while teenager Jamie Mc Coy hit both goals for Gurteen Celtic.

Benbulben FC were all set to go at the IT Sligo unfortunately Valley Rovers failed to show with very late notice. Game awarded to Benbulben, and Valley Rovers are now in the last chance saloon.

Disciplinary:

06/03/22 For failing to field against Benbulben FC in the Sligo Pallets Premier League fixture scheduled for today 6th March 2022 at the IT Sligo Your Club Valley Rovers In accordance with rule is fined €130 and severely cautioned as to its future conduct. Failure to field for one more domestic competition this season will see your club removed from the league.

Rule 26. Every Club is responsible to the Sligo-Leitrim Committee for the action of its players, officials and spectators, and is required to take all precautions necessary to prevent spectators threatening or assaulting officers and /or players during or at the conclusion of matches.

Please note all above are standard disciplinary actions further sanctions may well follow once the match official’s report is received.

All fines must be paid within 7 Days to SLDSL Treasurer Robert Kennedy 69, Cloondara Ballisodare Co Sligo. Fines outstanding after this will be doubled and further disciplinary action will follow.

Grounds:

All pitch inspections are covered within the framework of the SLDSL and SBISRS. Pitch inspections can be requested by contacting the Secretary of SBISRS Owen Mc Loughlin on 087 9323150 no later than 12 Noon on Saturdays with 24hrs notice for games on Fridays.

Where a ground is deemed unplayable by the SBISRS the game must revert to the opponent’s grounds. Should the opponents’ grounds be unplayable, either side can, if available provide an alternative ground within the SLDSL should the Kick-off differ from the original scheduled Kick Off i.e.,11am to 2pm and match official is available this game will go ahead any club failing to field will forfeit points.

Where a club travel to a ground and a pitch is deemed unplayable yet No Pitch Inspection was requested. The home club will forfeit home advantage and can, depending on circumstances forfeit all three points which is at the total discretion of the SLDSL. There is absolutely no excuse for not requesting Pitch Inspections.
