SHEERAN CUP CENTRE OF ATTENTION

O’NEILLS LEINSTER FOOTBALL LEAGUE

By Ed Scannell

THE WILLIAM SHEERAN Cup took centre stage this weekend with Dynamo Dublin comfortably getting past Templeogue Utd’s Major side 6-1.

The hosts were 1-0 up at half time following Andrius Bitaurasu’s wonder striker on 23 minutes and were out of sight by the hour mark with Bitaurasu completing his hat-trick and Carlos Mesas also getting on the scoresheet.

Roma Pryma made it 5-0 on 75 mins before Ross Stuart grabbed a consolation goal for Utd to make it 5-1 a minute later. Pryma managed to grab a second late on for the high flying Dynamo to send them into the next round by a score of 6-1.

Frankfort B also advanced to round two but were certainly made to work for the win by new boys Dundrum. Two up at half time with goals by Felipe Viera and Leandro Santos had Frankfort in control, but a late Ross Rafferty goal for Dundrum had Frankfort sweating until Ref Ken Boylan’s whistle blew for full time.
