History beckons for Vera Pauw’s Girls In Green – all 8,000 tickets for the Women’s EURO 2021 Qualifier against Ukraine on 8 October have now been sold or claimed by FAI season ticket holders.

Demand has outstripped supply for the game that is set to break the attendance record for the Ireland senior women’s team after a joint promotion by the FAI and the 20×20 campaign.

A waiting list is now in operation and all those who may have tickets and cannot attend are urged to email the FAI Ticket Office – customer-relations@fai.ie – to facilitate the redistribution of tickets for this crucial fixture.

Ireland manager Vera Pauw has also urged those with tickets to come along to Tallaght on the night and make some noise for the Girls In Green.

Pauw told FAI.ie: “The support is always hugely important to us all, but that is especially the case for this game on Tuesday as it is the most crucial fixture of the campaign for us. We all know the level that Germany are at and they are expected to top the group so Ukraine are our biggest rivals. And as we are at home, we need a positive result from this game.

“It is very important that anyone who has tickets but now cannot make the game, returns them to us or gives them to someone that will attend because there are a lot of supporters looking for tickets now and we don’t want to see anyone disappointed, and also we want to have the stadium packed to support the players.”

Ireland go into the game looking to claim two wins from two, having defeated Montenegro 2-1 in their opening Qualifier at Tallaght Stadium on 3 September.

The FAI partnered with the 20×20 campaign to set a new record for the number of people attending a Republic of Ireland women’s senior team game at Tallaght Stadium.

The match will be live on RTE2 television.
