Puskas Hagi were overwhelming favorites but Bohs battled manfully and although they trailed 7-3 at the break they reduced the score to 11-9 at one stage in the second period before Puskas Hagi pulled away in the final straight.
Alexandru Pop was impressive alongside Gherca while Marius Sabasanu took off several excellent saves from some Bohemian piledrivers.
The fare was top class – especially in the second period and the entertainment value was top notch as both sides committed to all out attack with some free flowing and exciting futsal on view.
Razvan Togan netted twice in that second period while Gian Marco recorded a brace, Kevin Keane hit a treble and David Lynch aslo hit a double as the Gypsies stayed in the game right up to the final few minutes of the contest. In the first period Puskas Hagi had sped into an early two-nil lead but Bohs pegged them back level.
Puskas Hagi stretched it out to 5-2, Bohs pulled one back for 5-3 and a rapid fire double just before the halftime whistle stretched it out to 7-3.
Bohs won a penalty early in the second period and netted off a respotted kick which they scored off. It set the scoring off in what was a pulsating encounter and both sides traded goals before Alexandru Pop and Gherca finally established their class to see Puskas Hagi pull away after an excellent contest between these two AUL sides.
Puskas Hagi are back on court on Wednesday in the FAI Futsal Cup when they will face holders Blue Magic FC at the National Indoor Arena.
They might find the midweek challenge a little more difficult to try and repeat the same goals tally against an undefeated opposition in both league and cup this season.
