The following decision of the Government commences from 12 Midnight Tuesday 6th Oct 2020 and will stay in place in our league until further notice: Further updates from the HSE and FAI will be circulated when we receive them. We would ask all our affiliates to continue to Stay Safe and follow all the necessary protocol’s so as we can see a safe return to football as soon as possible.
Training and matches
No matches can take place in Level 3 with the exception professional, elite, intercounty and club championships.
Only non-contact training in pods of up to 15 can happen with an exemption again for professional, elite, inter-county sports and senior club championship teams.
Re: Government announcement last Night to impose nationwide level 3 COVID 19 preventive measures as from midnight 06 October.
Taking the above declaration into consideration. All NEFL scheduled fixtures for this weekend (as detailed within attachment) shall be postponed.
The NEFL Committee will be meeting over the next few days, and periodically during the period of the imposed restrictions to monitor the situation, and discuss the best way the season maybe concluded, which in turn will solely depend on the duration of the proposed restrictions.
Training (maximum fifteen per group may continue under the terms, and conditions of level 3 restriction (as detailed on Government website)
Unfortunately with the country going into Level 3 tonight, we have no option but to cancel all Competitive and Coaching league games until Further notice.
Training can continue for all Clubs, Strictly in Pods of 15. As and when we receive any further instructions, we will pass them on to you all.
Our Committee continues to meet regularly to attempt to give all Children in the NECSL Football when we are best placed too.
