Killala claim first CFA provincial title as Gallaghers stand tall to ensure day of glory for Mayo League ambassadors

KILLALA FC claimed the CFA Shield in Solar 21 Park at Milebush following an entertaining match with Knocknacarra of Galway


The Gallaghers stole the headlines here, Goalkeeper Danny produced a number of fine saves in the fIrst half to keep Knocknacarra at bay, the highlight was a 15th minute penalty save from Rory Knight


At the other end Rory aka “Giggsy ” produced two fine finishes the first an exquisite 20 yard lob and his second, a neat finish to the corner of Ciaran O’Dwyer’s goal.

In between Michael Corrigan had doubled Kilalla lead.


Knocknacarra never gave up and Cathal McDonnachadh pulled a goal back with 15 minutes left to play, however Kilalla’s defence remained strong as they saw out the victory to claim the club’s first provincal title at Junior Level

All Cup Final games decided on the day if still a draw after full time plus one period of extra time (10 minutes e/w) FIFA Rules on Penalty’s to apply. Any Club/Team forfeiting a fixture will be removed from the competition and disciplinary action will follow.
