Keep those ideas coming to help the Football Family survive life without football!

WE have asked individuals, clubs, league and associations to provide us with ideas to help players – particularly younger players to keep themselves active, motivated and involved.

It’s important during this enforced closedown period that we still keep ourselves connected – albeit apart – as we try to come to grips and deal with the Covid-19 challenge.

STRIKERONLINE wants to play a part simply as a facilitator or platform to share and promote ideas and ensure mental stimulation that can direct players as to how to train – how to follow training regimes and to feel part of the movement that can help beat this enormous challenge.

Here’s the first offering received from Derek O’Kelly and Ballyoulster United. Please feel free to send your own ideas and suggestions to socstriker@gmail.com and we will share them with all our platform visitiors.

Derek writes:

“Is it possible we can use the Ballyoulster Facebook community to help each other over the next few weeks? I believe we can.

Because in my experience – the resilience and resourcefulness of the Irish people is second to none. Particularly when the chips are down.

I also believe their willingness to share, to be kind and to help others, is the envy of other nations.

So, here’s my idea:

Let’s use the great community we have built here on facebook to learn and share over the next few weeks

Maybe you can share tips or activities of what you intend to do with the kids.

Or share any information you think might help to keep the mind and body healthy.

Or maybe coaches or managers have tips for exercise’s or activities for indoors/outdoors (for parents and/or players)

Or maybe there are educators/teachers/parents who have tips for home schooling.

Because here’s the science bit: Much of the evidence tells us that social communities, online or offline, can have a positive impact on our mood, as long as intentions are good and the community is like minded.

If you don’t believe me, here’s what Dr Sarah McKay, neuroscientist and founder of The Neuroscience Academy, has to say.

“One of the greatest buffers to stress is social connections”

So – game on. Let’s start learning and sharing
Let’s call the project: Team Ballyoulster – Together is Better.

Please use this tread to post comments or pm our page and we will post it

Talk soon
Stay Well & Stay Fit”

Kind Regards
