HOLDERS SPARED A FIRST ROUND TIE IN UNDER 19 MCGUILL CUP

HOLDERS Bohemians will wait to begin their defence of the SSE Airtricity Under 19 FAI Enda McGuill Cup until round two after they received a bye in the opening round draw.

Craig Sexton’s side captured the McGuill Cup last season coming from a goal down to defeat St Patrick’s Athletic 2-1 with second half strikes from ace marksman Ali Reghba at Richmond Park.

While later in the season the young Gypsies completed a magnificent double when another Reghba goal proved enough to give them a 1-0 win over cross city rivals Shamrock Rovers at Tallaght Stadium in the SSE Airtricity National Under 19 League Final.

Defeated cup finalists St Patrick’s Athletic have also received a first round bye along with the in form Dundalk and Cork City the current unbeaten leaders of the Northern and Southern Elite Divisions. Shamrock Rovers who are level on points with Cork will entertain Drogheda United and Shelbourne who trail Dundalk by two points visit Bray Wanderers.

Byes: Bohemians, Cabinteely FC, Cork City, Derry City, Dundalk, Finn Harps, Limerick FC, Longford Town, St Patrick’s Athletic, UCD. 
All ties to be played on May 6/7.
