Hanafin secure points for title chasing Pike

PIKE ROVERS moved to within four points of Premier Division leaders Janesboro after a 1-0 win over Nenagh AFC this morning.



Jonathan Hannafin’s first half strike secured the points for the Hoops who have a game in handover defending champions Boro in the race for the title.Ballynanty Rovers kept their title hopes alive after thrashing relegated Carew Park 6-0. The winmoves Balla to within two points of Pike with an equal amount of games played.



Aaron Noonan led the way for the Northside club with four goals against Park. Geraldines were also in top scoring form this morning.They put five without reply past Charleville, courtesy of a hat-trick from Shane Byrne and strikes from Ian O’Donoghue and Tom O’Grady.



Elsewhere in Limerick’s top flight today, Robbie Kelleher and Jimmy Fitzgerald netted for Fairview Rangers in a 2-0 win over Prospect.Meanwhile, Aisling Annacotty beat Regional United 3-0 in Dooradoyle on Saturday night. Two-goal Ben Banaghan and Shane Donnegan were on target.
