ContentsA link to the online theory session will be sent to the email address provided on the morning of the course. The course is a mix of theory and adapted practical planning work. Please bring a pen and notebook. The practical component of the workshop normally delivered on the pitch has been adapted so participants can plan using a virtual session planner. On completion of the course, the following areas will have been discussed and experienced. Define disability and distinguish between the different disability/ impairment groups. b) Have an increased awareness of people with disabilities taking part in football and opportunities in your community. c) Have an increased awareness of the important role communication, language and etiquette have in inclusion. d) Experience planning coaching sessions using the TREE model
GoalsThe theory component of the course provides participants with an awareness of the opportunities for people with disabilities to play football in Ireland and an introduction to the coaching methods involved in different formats of the game. The adapted practical component provides participants with the opportunity to plan using these different methods and will assist participants in planning to deliver inclusive coaching session
Target groupCoaches working with ‘Football For All’ teams, this includes teams that cater for specific impairment groups. On completion of the course, a certificate of attendance will be emailed to the email address you have provided.
