DDSL/FAI ‘Football for All’ Workshop/Coaching Course

All clubs are invited to attend the ‘Football for All’  workshop on Saturday 11th January 2020 from 9.30am to 1pm. It will be run by Chris McElligott & Gerry Reardon from the FAI. It will take place in Abbotstown…both inside & outside.

We have also asked Down Syndrome Ireland & Autism Ireland to send a representative so they a give a ‘Brief Talk’ to both Existing & New Clubs. We will also ask them to encourage their members/children to get involved & participate in ‘Football For All’. They will also guide you to your local association.

DDSL/FAI Mixed Mini World Cup Tournament:

The next Mixed Mini World Cup Tournament will take place on Saturday 1st February 2020 in the Postal Grounds, Kiltipper Road… from 10am to 3.30pm. It will be run similar to the Tournament held in Knocklyon United last July where we had 16 teams playing in the Tournament…with 5 players from ‘Football for All’ & 5 players from ‘Mainstream Football’ on each team. It will be organised in conjunction with Tallaght Town who already have an existing ‘Football for All’ Club.

We expect up to 80 players from ‘Football for All’ & 80 players from ‘Mainstream Football’ to participate….so please register early.

Ethos:    

  • TO RUN SIMILAR & AS CLOSE TO THE ‘MAINSTREAM LEAGUES’ i.e. SSG LEAGUES:

*** PLAYERS COME FIRST

*** PARTICIPATION

*** INCLUSIVE TOURNAMENTS

Format:                                 

  • CURRENT CLUBS IN THE DUBLIN/LEINSTER REGION: TBC
  • AGE GROUPS: Groups: u6 to u10….u11 to u13…u14 to u16                           
  • LEAGUE: 4 to 6 teams in each Division in the different groups.
  • GRADING: ***Teams to be Graded on initial advice from clubs etc

                    ***Teams can be moved/switched from divisions if too

                           Strong/Weak.

                        ***Different Divisions….

                             One for players comfortable on the ball

                               Other Divisions to be ‘Mixed’ with Mainstream Players

  • DURATION & FORMAT OF GAMES:
    • u6 to u10…..4 x 6 mins…..5-A-Side
    • u11 to u13…4 x 10mins….7-A-Side
    • u14 to u16.. 2 X 25mins….9-A-Side
  • INITIAL SEASON: Proposal to begin in MARCH 2020 with one fixture every 2 weeks
  • LEAGUE SET UP: Under FAI/DDSL
  • BENEFITS FROM FAI/DDSL LEAGUE:

*** FAI Coaches already trained & in place…to help where needed

*** Structures already in place with both FAI/DDSL

*** Regulations already in place with DDSL

*** Insurance

*** Fixtures to be set by DDSL/MK

*** Fixtures to appear with all other DDSL fixtures

*** Approx. 186 DDSL Clubs….1,800+ teams….

*** To target DDSL Clubs to enter teams into ‘Football For All’ League

        For Season March 2020 or September 2020.  

  • MIXED MINI WORLD CUP TOURNAMENTS: To organise 3 tournaments over the season in different locations i.e. Abbotstown.

NOTE:…….PROVISIONAL LEAGUES….FEEDBACK FROM ALL CLUBS/COACHES/PARENTS THROUGH-OUT FIRST SEASON SO WE HAVE CORRECT FORMAT IN PLACE FOR SEPT 2020.
