Coolaney hold on to take full haul of points off a battling Real Tubber

Coolaney United were at home to local rivals Real Tubber and it was the visitors who took the lead after five minutes with a goal from Jack Walsh.

Coolaney rallied the troops and equalised with a goal from Ciaran McMurray and a second from Sean Doyle to give coolaney the lead going in at half-time.

McMurray added his second and Coolaney’s third to increase the lead but Real Tubber battled on and scored a second from Jason Curry with five minutes remaining leavening a tense finish but Coolaney held on to take the three points.


It was an eleven goal thriller in the game between Yeats United and Ballygawley Celtic.  At one stage Yeats were  3-1 ahead but the visitors fought back to level matters.

The game seen hat-tricks on both sides from Donal Fidgeon Yeats United and Stephen Clerkin Ballygawley Celtic also scoring twice for each of the sides were Joe Keys with two for Yeats United and Ryan Walsh with two for Ballygawley Celtic.

The game was decided in the 90th minute when Sean  McLoughlin’s free kick secured victory for the home Side Yeats United

Carrick Town And Calry FC shared the points in today’s match With Calry Bohs taking the lead  Adam Krupa scored the equaliser for Carrick In the second half to take a share of the points.

Arrow Harps played hosts to Chaffpool United in Riverstown and it was the home side  who took the lead early on. The visitors pulled two goals back to give them the lead going in at half-time.

Arrow Harps scored three in succession to go 4- 2 up but Chaffpool fought hard and were rewarded for their efforts scoring again to reduce the deficit.

A late penalty for Arrow Harps finally settled matter. The scorers on the day were Cian Kilcoyne with a hat-trick and two from Ben Touhy for Arrow Harps. Paul Connolly, Darren Gorevan and Joe Perry were on the scoresheet for Chaffpool.

FAI New Balance Junior Cup Round 1 (Preliminary) Ballisodare United travelled to take on Roscommon side Sky Valley  Rovers on Saturday evening and they dominated from the start and were well on top when they were  rewarded for their efforts  with a goal from Adam Grace in the 30th minute enough to keep them in the lead until half-time.

From the start of the  second half Ballisodare pushed forward again but lost possession and were punished on the break with the home side equalising . Five minutes later Sky Valley Rovers were awarded a free Kick and put their side Ahead. A third strike in the 70th Minute was enough to see the home side advance to the next round.

MCR FC  go through to the next round as Kilkerrin United could not field a team

Manor Rangers travelled to Ballaghderren and got off to a great start with a goal from Diarmuid Giblin this was followed up with a second from Shane Walsh to put Manor two up at half Time.

Ballaghdereen responded well In the second half and managed to score four times to put the game out of the reach of Manor. Darren Gilmartin Pulled one back for Manor In the latter stages of the game  

Merville United were at home To Shiven Rovers and it was Kyle Hargadon who  scored both of Merville’s goals.  Shiven Rovers  also scored two in the first half to even matters. That was  the way it finished and following extratime the game went into penalties where Mervile United came out on top  following  Shiven Rovers  missing their penalty in the sudden death shootout.

Carbury advanced to the next round of the cup Following their victory over Strand Celtic. All four goals were scored in the second half with Gary Finan netting two and one each from Gerry Brennan and Gary Armstrong.
