The learning process does not stop for the Football Association of Ireland’s Coach Education Department as they prepare to roll out more UEFA courses in 2021.

The application process is now opened for coaches interested in obtaining the UEFA Elite Youth A Licence, UEFA B Licence or UEFA A Licence.

The Coach Education Department have worked hard over recent months to adapt to restrictions around COVID-19 and each course delivered will be tailored with Government & Health Service Executive protocols in mind.

Integration of video technology and performance analysis software has enabled many Grassroots courses to take place over recent weeks, so now the focus is switching to elite UEFA courses for next year.
Craig Sexton, FAI Coach Education Coordinator, said: “We are delighted to launch the application process for a number of our 2021 UEFA Licence courses. Following on from a full application process, we look forward to accepting our first cohort of students on their 2021 UEFA Licence journey. “

We are hopeful of working as normal in delivering the courses in 2021, but we are also fully prepared to adapt and to deliver an effective programme for all coaches within the current climate and following Government & HSE protocols.

“As we move into our 19th year delivering UEFA Licence courses, we have made a number of exciting changes to our Coach Education Pathway and we have also adapted a number of elements within our delivery of all courses to ensure that our courses go above and beyond the reality-based learning model and we are eager to develop our coaches within this.”
