AUL Sportsworks Futsal Champions Blue Magic return to action this evening at the National Indoor Arena when they face ProBrazil Academy.

With a maximum haul of 15 points with a impressie goals tally of 86 goals for and oly three against, the champions have been in blistering form of late.

Last time out, it was a very youthful Path2Pro and despite winning 16-1, much credit is due to Path2Pro who fielded with several 15-year-olds and despite being on the receiving end of a lesson in the art of goalscoring, they came out of the game with a lot of credit.

It’s an ambitious project by  Path2Pro and in its’ initial stages you can expect some heavy defeats to come with the territory. But, the young lads of Path2Pro along with the senior influence of the likes of Neale Fenn they are learning all the time. They also showed good technical skills and this will only improve as the season progresses.

Give Path2Pro a season or two and expect them to be operating at the business end of the SportsWorks Futsal division.

Their goalscorer on the night was Thomas ‘Fox’ Morgan – a son of former Blackburnn Rovers and St Patrick’s Athletic midfielder of the same name. Certainly he’s a talent and he showed some precocious skills and an eye for goal and he finally managed to crack what is normally a watertight BM defence.

For Blue Magic, it’s a case of maintaining standards regardless of the opposition and all squad members maintained a high tempo and excellent work ethic throughout the contest.

Their warm-up routine alone tells you of how serious they take the game of futsal and they remain excellent ambassadors for the sport and remain the team to beat on this island.

They are thoroughly professional in their approach and that is reflected in the blistering amount of goals they have logged in just five game – and surely the century will be achieved in the coming week or so.

The goalscorers for  Blue Magic in their 16-1 success were:Ian Byrne (3), Victor Calderon (3), Matheus Lemes (3), Andre Galo (3), Gabriel Yan Micoski (2), Kaique dos Santos and Matheus Coelho.

Pro Brazil’s only defeat is at the hands of Real Transylvania and they have found the net with a degree of consistency in their four outings to date and look set to give Blue Magic their biggest challenge in the season to date.
