Ballymote treble sees off Arrow Harps at Young’s Quarry

In the Sligo Southern Hotel Super League Ballymote Celtic Played Hosts to Arrow Harps on a wet and windy Friday night in Young’s Quarry, Ballisodare. It was the home team that took the lead with a goal from Niall Colsh.

Both Sides Kept Pressing and had changes but It was Jack Heaver who Increased the lead with a brilliant free Kick. Ronan Keenan sealed the victory for Ballymote with a fine individual finish.

Youngs Quarry was the Venue again on Saturday Night Where   Cartron United Took on Ballisodare United. Cartron Took Control of the game early on with some Crisp Passing and were rewarded in the 15th Minute when Malachy Spratt Turned his Man and Unleashed a Superb Strike to the net

. And it was Spratt again who was on Target in the 30th Minute When he doubled his and His Sides Score. Ballisodare Pressed Forward and Conor White brought His Side Back with a Brilliant Finish from Close Range. Cartron’s Response was Quick with Donal Gallagher Extending Their Lead Two Minutes later.

This was Followed up By John Harte giving Cartron a 4-1 Lead at half Time. Both Sides Tightened their Defences in the second Half and Gave very Little Away until Jake Hargadon got on the end of a Cross from the right to Slot home from Six Yards Out and Sealed Victory for the Visitors.

Strand Celtic continued in their rich vein of form with an impressive win over MCR.

Goal scorers On the Night in The Showgrounds Astro were Hat Trick Hero Aaron O Boyle Two Goals Each from Dylan Martin and Leo Doherty and a Goal Each from Conor Mc Keown and Danny Gray Harrigan. The Goal scorers   For MCR Were Keith Nibbs with Two and A Goal each from Jordan Muldoon and Bradley Fowley.

Real Tubber Took the Three Points from Their Visit To Cliffoney going in At Half Time With A One Goal Lead. A Hat Trick on the Day for Raff Cretaro and One from Eoin Walsh was Enough To see Of the Challenges of The Cliffoney Side Whose Only Goal came From Mark Byrne.  

The Merville Versus Manor Game was The Only Game Postponed Due to Pitch Been unplayable.

Gurteen Celtic Travelled to McSharry Park. to take on St Johns and it was the home side who took the three points with a goal in the fifteenth minute from Aaron Tiernan who struck from the edge of the box. It remained very tight after that between both sides with the weather conditions making it difficult to create chances.

Kilglass Enniscrone Took on Dromahair in McSharry Park on Sunday Morning. Ronan Martin Opened the Scoring Early on Followed by a Goal from Robert Jacob increasing Kilglass Enniscrone Lead

. Dromahair Fought Their Way back and Levelled Matters With Two Goals coming From inform Sean Conlon. Ronan Martin Struck again To Put His Side Ahead at Half Time.  Martin Struck again in the 68th Minute to Complete his Hat Trick and A goal Each from Shane Gilroy and Colm Rutledge Secured the Victory for Kilglass Enniscrone

Carrick Fc Took on Rivals Valley Rovers Down In The Astro at Dromahair which Turned Out to be a Close Encounter Throughout. Carrick took the Lead with Ray Mulvey Opening the Scoring in the 5th Minute. Valley Rovers Equalised in the 15th Minute though Tommy Flynn. Damien Devins Put Valley Rovers Ahead in the 25th Minute.

Their lead Only Lasted five minutes When Carrick’s Ray Mulvey Scored In the 30th Minute and again in the 40th Minute Completing His Hat Trick and Giving his side the Half Time Lead. Both Side Created Chances In the second Half and it was in the 74th Minute When Kieran Jennings Equalised for the Rovers. Carrick Took the lead again One Minute Later and Sealed Their Victory In the 80th Minute with a Strike from Shane Byrne.

Ballygawley took On Glenview Stars in another Close Encounter Which Saw Ballygawley Race into A Two Goal Lead but once Glenview Got Settled They Fought Hard and Pulled Two Back Equalising the Game before Half Time. Glenview Pressed on In the Second half and Took An Early Lead but Ballygawley Dug Deep and Pulled an Equaliser Back.

It was To be Ballygawley’s Day when in Injury Time they Received a Penalty Kick Which was Slotted Home by Conor Healy. Giving His side The Three Points. Scores on the Day for Ballygawley were Christy Markham With Two, Hughie Mc Gowan and Conor Healy and Glenview’s Scorers Were Jake Drew With Two Goals and Dermott Mc Loughlin With One..

Calry Bohs Played Chafpool United at The IT Sligo in a Game that had several Missed Chances. Cian Oates Scored in the 65th Minute Which Ended Up Been the decider On the day Between both Sides   .

Benbulben Fc Had Their Afternoon Kick Off Against Coolaney changed To McSharry Park Which Saw Yet another Closely Contested Affair. Benbulben Edging Out Their Rivals with A Three Goals to Two Victory. Daithi Mc Gloin, Sean O Flynn and A penalty From Oisin Gilmartin was enough for he Benbulben Team. Coolaney Had Cathal Davey On the Score Sheet again along with Mati Racki  


In The FAI Centenary Cup 5th Round

Carbury Travelled To Dublin o Take on Oliver Bond Fc in the Fifth Round of the Fai Centenary Cup  and Despite been Down Some Key Players Went Down By The Only Goal Of the Game Scored in the Second Period of extra time. A Great Display by Carbury One can Only Wonder what might have been with a full Squad


All fines must be paid within 7 Days to SLDSL Treasurer Robert Kennedy 69, Cloondara Ballisodare Co Sligo. Fines outstanding after this will be doubled and further disciplinary action will follow.



All pitch inspections are covered within the framework of the SLDSL and SBISRS. Pitch inspections can be requested by contacting the Secretary of SBISRS Owen Mc Loughlin on 087 9323150 no later than 12 Noon on Saturdays with 24hrs notice for games on Fridays. Where a ground is deemed unplayable by the SBISRS the game must revert to the opponent’s grounds.

Should the opponents’ grounds be unplayable, either side can, if available provide an alternative ground within the SLDSL should the Kick Off differ from the original scheduled Kick Off i.e.,11am to 2pm and match official is available this game will go ahead any club failing to field will forfeit points. Where a club travel to a ground and a pitch is deemed unplayable yet No Pitch Inspection was requested

. The home club will forfeit home advantage and can, depending on circumstances forfeit all three points which is at the total discretion of the SLDSL. There is absolutely no excuse for not requesting Pitch Inspections.
